Honeybush Tea

$9.50

  • Similar to the production of black or green teas, the leaves of the honeybush are harvested, cut and bruised (often with mechanical rollers), and then exposed to heat for several days to allow oxidation.
  • It is named after the smell of its flowers, grows only in small areas of South Africa and has many similarities with the more commonly known Rooibos plant.
  • The tea brewed from the honeybush plant is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Suggested Use: The leaves brew to a deep red color in 3-4 minutes and make a sweet, smooth, fruity, tea that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. Unlike tea prepared from Camellia sinensis (most white, green, oolong and black teas), honeybush tea does not turn bitter with longer simmering, and it does not contain any caffeine.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in a sealed container.
Safety: We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using any herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
