- A variety of red algae known for its gelling properties (it can be used to replace other gelling agents). It is rich in minerals, as are all algae. It is also rich in nutrients and antioxidants.
- Considered an excellent remedy for tuberculosis; coughs bronchitis, and intestinal problems.
- Iodine aromas are very present. It may be powdered to replace salt in culinary preparations.
- Has a long history of medicinal use for respiratory and digestive ailments and known to contain Vitamins A, E, F, and K, calcium, potassium, and sulfur.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry place in an airtight container. The gel should be refrigerated.
Safety: Seaweeds contain naturally high levels of iodine. This product is harvested from the sea. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to fish or shellfish.
